‘Rockit’ será la nueva Coaster de alta tecnología que se construirá en Universal Studios Orlando en 2009
Universal Studios está a punto de empezar a construír una atracción espectacular, Una Coaster de alta tecnología llena de luces, música, giros y vueltas y un rápido viaje por encíma de las cabezas de la gente que pase por las próximidades del City Walk del resort.
La coaster se planea que sea tan grande y luminosa que sea el nuevo símbolo visual del resort cuando la coaster abra al público en apróximadamente un año. Los responsables del resort han afirmado que la atracción tendrá tanta tecnología digital que podría ser tan conocída como la cultura del YouTube. También se afierma que la coaster subirá apróximadamente 51 metros del suelo y tendrá numerosos ‘loopings’ y ‘corkscrews’. Rockit es la primera coaster que se creará al aire libre en parque Universal Studios y está prevista que se abra sus tornos en la primavera de 2009.
Esta coaster será otro de los grandes reclamos que el Resort tiene preparados para ésta y las próximas temporadas, como son Disaster! estrenada ya en Enero, The Simpsons Ride que abrirá en las próximas semanas y es la sustituta de ‘Back to the Future’ y otra serie de atracciones que aun son expedientes clasificados que abrirán de forma conjunta en 2009 en una nueva zona denominada "Wizarding World of Harry Potter" en el parque Island Of Adventure que forma parte del mismo resort.

Universal Studios is about to build a new signature ride: a high-tech roller coaster full of lights, music, loops, twists and turns — and a quick trip over the heads of people walking through the nearby CityWalk entertainment district.
The Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit is planned to be big, bright and brash enough to become the new visual symbol for the theme park when the coaster opens in about a year. Universal Orlando officials said Tuesday that it also will feature enough digital technology to appeal directly to what they refer to as the "YouTube culture."
Universal Orlando officials said the coaster will rise 167 feet into the air and feature numerous loops and corkscrew turns. Rockit — the first big, outdoor thrill ride for Universal Studios — is set to open in spring 2009.
It will provide another link in Universal Orlando’s recent chain of big new attractions. An overhauled version of an old ride, renamed Disaster!, opened in January. The Simpsons Ride, a 3-D fantasy-simulation ride replacing the old Back to the Future, is set to open in a few weeks. And several still-undisclosed attractions are to open together in late 2009 as the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter" in Universal Studios’ sister park, Islands of Adventure.
